Plantar Fasciitis

Plantar fasciitis is a common painful condition affecting the heel and underside of the foot. The plantar fascia is a thick fibrous band of connective tissue that originates from heel and extends along the sole of the foot inserting at the base of the toes, supporting the arch of the foot. Standing and walking mechanically incorrectly are thought to place excess strain on the plantar fascia leading to the problem.

At Talaria we specialise in treating plantar fasciitis and preventing any pain in your feet. Please come see us for all your foot health needs.

Studies have shown that shockwave is an effective therapy for plantar fasciitis with significant alleviation of pain and improvement in function. Shockwave therapy is aimed to accelerate tissue repair, cell growth, reduce pain and increased mobility. Essentially it kicks starts the body’s natural healing mechanisms. At Talaria we believe that the skilful implementation of shockwave as part of a treatment approach can be vital in achieving the best outcome for our patients

Orthotic Therapy

Orthotics can greatly enhance your quality of life as they realign the feet into a more efficient and economical position, making your feet more comfortable. If you have plantar fasciitis you may benefit from orthotic management. Our podiatrists at Talaria will undertake an extensive biomechanical assessment to identify any additional factors causing pain that may be addressed with orthotics.
