Our FREE FOOTBALL BOOT ASSESSMENTS are back and running through February and March this year! Our sports podiatrist, Mitchell Podhajski, is an expert in the area, as a VFL player himself. AFL is one of the most popular team sports for kids aged between 6 and 13. Choosing a shoe that suits your unique foot type and biomechanics is a difficult task! The workings of how you run, walk and even stand is dictated through this.
The motions of your ankle or foot during movement described as either: pronation, neutral or supination! But what do these terms mean…!?
- Pronation: The foot lands on the outside of the heel and rolls inward, transferring weight to the inner edge instead of the ball of the foot
- Neutral: The foot lands on the outside of the heel, then rolls inwards to absorb shock and support body weight
- Supination: The outer side of the heel hits the ground at an increased angle with little or no inward rolling, causing a large transmission of shock through the lower leg
In our FREE FOOTBALL BOOT ASSESSMENTS, we will help you determine the category by which your foot type fits in to. As a result, our sports podiatrist, can recommend different footy boots that would be suitable for you!
Each consultation will include a detailed biomechanical assessment (muscle-based strength testing of your muscles in your feet and legs, assessing your foot joints range of motion and an analysis of your walking/running style), specific measurements of your feet to categorise your foot type as well as the length and width of your feet. After your consultation, you will walk away with specific boot recommendations for your foot type.
