Jennifer (Jenn) Argitis (she/her) graduated from Latrobe University in 2025 with a Bachelor of Podiatry (Honours) & Endorsement of Scheduled Medicine. Jenn’s interests in Podiatry include general nail care & diabetes assessments.
Jenn’s mother is Italian and her father is Greek (she can’t speak either though, sorry!), and she has a pretty special connection to the Thornbury community. Her grandparents owned the Italian continental cake shop ‘Monticello Cakes’, an iconic café just down the road on High Street (now the home of Casa De Sicilia Caffe). Her grandparents worked 7 days a week for over 50 years. She spent a lot of time in her grandparents shop growing up, Jenn & her family would spend a lot of time there especially in holidays & help pipe the cannoli. Jenn has fond memories of the Thornbury area – so she feels full circle to be returning to her second home to work at Talaria.
After studying Advertising & PR at RMIT University, a chance meeting with a Podiatrist enlightened her to the benefits of the profession, and spoke to Jenn’s caring nature to want to help people. She’d seen a Podiatrist when she was younger and remembered that experience and could see herself doing it and liked the idea of following something that is more hands on.
Jenn thinks people often neglect their foot health, and wants to help people to see the importance of foot and nails to their overall health. Jenn wants her patients to feel comfortable in their appointments – usually using a bit of humour to break the ice. “I like getting a little bit of a laugh, getting a smile in their face, having a nice conversation”, she said. Lots of people don’t know what to expect, Jenn is here to make it a relaxing process & said not to be embarrassed of any foot issues you might present with – “I’ve probably seen worse”, she says. Jenn thinks it’s good to prioritize yourself & your feet get neglected a lot and it’s good to come in & finally get things checked out!
Jenn is loving being part of the Talaria family already, and loves the vibe of the clinic and that everyone so lovely and down for a chat. She loves Thornbury & how many cafes and everything is nearby. Her favourite local spots are Gigi Rooftop, Capers & Luther’s Scoops.
Outside of work, Jenn loves doing things like shopping, going to café’s, Pilates, and being at home with her cat ‘Nigel Thornbury’. She loves movies & TV, especially horror! And enjoys reading a good book.
